Consigning Versus Selling
What's right for me?
Consigning Means:
You must have an appointment for more than 30 items. Appointments are typically booked out approximately 4-6 months.
Schedule no more than 3 appointments per year. We strongly prefer a limit of 2 as a courtesy to your fellow consignors.
Consignors may bring any quantity and any season to an appointment, provided guidelines are followed.
Existing consignors may bring up to 30 in-season items without an appointment. We accept Spring & Summer between January 1-June 30 and Fall & Winter between July 1-December 31 for this option. Please note that this means a maximum of 30 items may be brought to be evaluated. It does NOT mean that you may bring more than 30 items and that Beanstalk staffers will choose 30!
Boutique Brands - any season, any quantity, any time! No appointment needed for upscale brands only! These brands MUST be separated from your “regular” brands for speedy intake!
Consignors receive their money into an account when an item sells. You can check your consignor account online anytime to see your balance.
Receive 40% cash or use balance in store and get a 5% bonus on earnings.
Consignors pay a one-time $20 fee, deducted from the sale of their very first items.
Please arrive before 4pm Monday-Saturday. We do not take in items on Sunday.
Unwanted items and totes must be picked up before closing at 5.
NOTE: You MUST cancel at least 48 hours in advance of an appointment if you are unable to make it for any reason. Consignors who fail to cancel with adequate notice and do not show up, will incur a $10 fee per missed appointment. Please understand that a huge percentage of appointments are no-shows which is unfair to other eager consignors in need of appointment times. You may cancel by calling the store at (919)664-2166 during business hours or by choosing the cancellation option on any of your appointment reminder emails.
Selling Outright Means:
No appointment is required. First come, first served. You will be given an approximate wait time and will be texted when an offer is ready. Typically your items can be processed within 1 hour.
You may bring up to 1 bin (any size) of clothing plus up to 15 non-clothing items including toys, books and equipment per day.
The same preparation guidelines apply to sellers as to consignors.
Receive approximately 25% of an item's selling price paid in cash on the spot!

There is no fee for selling!
